JMB Living

Hi! I'm Julie, founder of The Art of Intentional Living Community and creator of beautiful guided seasonal journals focusing on wellness and living intentionally. I teach journaling as a tool, not only for mental wellness, but also for creating what you want out of life. My journals are quite unique – guided journal, planner and magazine in one. They include articles sharing inspiration from wellness professionals, vision board space, habit trackers and so much more. I also just release Worthy: A Radical Self-Love Journal. Each week I release new videos on my YouTube channel with suggestions and ideas for slow living and intentional living.

🌷 A gentle life lesson from my garden...

A Lesson From My Garden Hello! Hope this email finds you happy and well. What are you focused on these days? For me, I set aside time to plant my fall bulbs this weekend—something I can't say I look forward to every year, but I so enjoy the effort in the spring. This year a few things took me by surprise. Typically it takes me several hours to dig a trench for the bulbs–not my favorite task, so procrastination prevails. This time I was more thoughtful about the timing and waited for the...

🍁 A Fall Story about Pie and Perspective...

Choosing a Different Perspective If you had asked me a week ago if I liked pumpkin pie, I would have given you a definitive, "No." I always passed on pumpkin pie each Thanksgiving. I love pumpkin. In fact this week, all kinds of yummy pumpkin things have been coming out of my kitchen, (including the pumpkin sourdough loaf in the pic above.) But pumpkin pie? Never been a fan. Until yesterday. I'd made a pumpkin pie for Curt this weekend, because he loves a good pie, especially pumpkin. And as...

🍂🍁 A 3 Minute Invitation to Savor Fall...

Hi Reader, This week, I’ve been soaking in all the magic that autumn quietly offers — the crunch of leaves underfoot, the golden glow of mums, the smell of cinnamon and wood smoke drifting through the air. I've planted fall bulbs, sipped cider and my kitchen could be viewed as a pumpkin factory with how many pumpkin things I've been making lately. I hope you are enjoying it all as much as I have been. Many of these moments have reminded me that each season speaks its own love language… if...

💛 A few hidden gems I’m loving... 🍂🍁

Who Knew??? Sometimes the simplest things can make such a difference in our everyday rhythm — a scent, a texture, a flavor, or even a small ritual. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite little discoveries that you may not know about — the things I keep coming back to again and again because they just make life feel a little richer. Here are five that I’m loving right now: Beeswax votives from Bees Light Candles (Etsy) This small company in rural Pennsylvania is working to help save the bee...

Life is NOT an emergency...

Wasting Time Isn't a Waste of Time Hi friend, A few mornings ago, while journaling, I found myself musing over the idea that wasting time isn’t actually a waste of time. In those quiet, seemingly unproductive moments—when I let myself simply be—I can feel my whole nervous system exhale. There’s a calm that comes not from doing, but from allowing. I thought about how different this feels from my old way of living. I used to squeeze every ounce of productivity out of my day—working through...

🍂🍁 Your simple FALL RESET starts here...

Hi Reader, I love all the seasons now, but I can't help but think that autumn is my favorite. What's not to love about pumpkin, cinnamon, soft socks, sweaters and sipping warm drinks. All of this feels like it goes hand in hand with slowing down. 🍂 But this season can also bring mental clutter, burnout, and that restless feeling that I'm not getting enough done... That’s why I created a short video to help you reset this fall. In it I share 4 cozy, fall-inspired journal prompts that I...

I dropped the ball...

I had good reasons... At the start of this year I was determined to move my health and connections with my family to the top of my priority list. They have always been two of my core values, but sometimes I haven't treated them as such. This year I was determined to do better. For me, this meant spending more time walking, working out and just as importantly chilling out–with family and by myself. I had slowed down everything in my life significantly last year, but this year I wanted to take...

🥰 You're the 1st to see this...

An Idea for this 1st day of Autumn Happy fall equinox, the day when there is an equal balance of light and darkness. The day when fall officially begins. The time for all the cozy feels to begin. But just what does cozy mean to YOU? That word is thrown about so frequently this time of year, it may lose some of its essence. The journal prompt I created to use this morning (and as one of the prompts I'll be using in next week's YouTube video) is meant to help us not only ponder what cozy means...

7 Signs You're Missing Out on Life...

Hi Reader, Have you ever finished the day and thought… where did the time go? It happens more than we realize. We slip into autopilot—doing the same routines, following the same patterns—without stopping to ask if they’re moving us closer to what we truly want. The problem with this is that we miss out on the joy of living and we don't find time for what matters most deep down. There is a way out of this path of least resistance and that’s why I created this week’s video:👉 7 Hidden Signs...

🌻 How to FEEL young again today...

Lighter Feeling Days Hey friend! Do you remember the last time you skipped? Not the skipping of an errand or an appointment 🤣 I mean an actual skip, like you might have done as a child. As we get older, our movements become… predictable. We learn to conserve our energy, moving efficiently, keeping things smooth and steady. That’s not a bad thing—but somewhere in there, we can lose a little spark. And with that spark goes the bounce in our step, the lightheartedness, the play. What if, just...
