What you are MISSING...

How Did I Miss That???

It was an odd shaped tree. I'd never seen one quite like it before. The dense leaves from base to top formed the shape of an upside down cone, and it was completely flat on top. "How interesting," I thought.

Then it dawned on me that I've walked by this tree once or twice a day for years and never noticed it. How is it that we miss so many interesting things in plain sight?

My bet is we simply don't view our surroundings often enough with a DEEP dose of intentional curiosity. As a result, we miss more than an odd shaped tree. We miss the countless opportunities to feel a sense of awe and wonder–feelings that spark a sudden little waves of joy.

This week I'm on a quest to notice more. To be deeply curious by using my five senses. Want to join me?

Can you pick out the spices that make your meal taste so good?

Can you let your nose wander further than what you first smell?

Can you notice textures and temperature when things touch your skin?

Can you listen beyond the hum of the traffic and the drone of the ac to notice voices of different birds?

And can you open your eyes to seek new and interesting things, filling your days with just a little more wonder and awe?

Let me know what brings a little more wonder and awe into your life this week. 🙂

Happily yours, Julie
