Who you are BECOMING matters just as much as what you are doing...
January has come and gone–so quickly... It makes me realize just how important it is to be intentional with your time when you have things you want to make happen.
Did you make progress toward your goals last month? Or are you finding that somehow, life keeps getting in the way.
Here’s the thing: Goals aren’t just about what you do. They can more easily be accomplished if you also focus on who you need to become.
One of my favorite books on creating new habits is Atomic Habits by James Clear. He says, "The key to building lasting habits is focusing on creating a new identity first." and "To change your behavior for good, you need to start believing new things about yourself."
Here are a few questions I like to ask myself:
- What kind of person naturally embodies this goal?
- What daily choices would they make?
- How would they think, act, and feel?
When you start identifying as the version of yourself who already lives this way, your actions begin to align naturally. It’s not about forcing habits—it’s about stepping into a new identity.
✨ If you see yourself as someone who prioritizes health, moving your body isn’t a chore—it’s just what you do.
✨ If you see yourself as someone who lives slowly and intentionally, setting boundaries around your time becomes second nature.
Who do you want to be by the end of this year?
With intention,
Julie
P.S. If eating better is one of your intentions this year, you'll want to check out the 4th Annual Food Solutions Summit that I've been invited to be a guest speaker for.
I release doubt and enjoy the journey
to the next beautiful version of me.
