🚯 My Way or the Highway???

Travel, Coming Home & Perspectives

I'm a little late on this week's newsletter, as I just got back from a week in Helena visiting grandchildren with my mother. What a fun week! Hockey in masks and capes, trick or treating, treats from Cotton Top bakery and so much more. Today I'm back home putting all back in place before getting back into my routine.

It's always interesting to see where things managed to get put away in the kitchen while I've been gone. As I started to put the cheese grater back where it belongs, it dawned on me that maybe, just maybe.... some of the places Curt puts things while I'm away might actually make better sense.

Such as putting the rectangle lids to the leftover containers next to the square lids instead of on the other other side of the drawer.

Some placements though, I just didn't get - like, why would the ladle go in the drawer with the baking stuff?

Or why was the kitchen mixing bowl filled with leftover halloween candy bars in the drawer with the mittens and scarves?

In all fairness, I did find a few things that I had put in places that didn't make sense either, such as the rose petals on the counter to remind me to make rose apple cider.

This coming home clean-up reminded me of a few things.

1. I super lucky to have someone to come home to.

2. My way is not always the best way.

3. Choosing to consider different perspectives can often result in more ease (or fun) in life.

It also has me thinking about how refreshing it can be to shake things up now and then — to look at old routines through new eyes, to move a few things around (literally or figuratively), and to find a better rhythm for this season of life.

I’ve been working on something new that does just that — a little something to help you realign and feel re-energized as we step into a new year. I can’t share all the details quite yet, but keep an eye out… I’ll be announcing it soon, and it’s the perfect way to reset before January even begins.

Until then, maybe peek in your own “kitchen drawers” this week — what could use a little rearranging to make life flow more smoothly?

Wishing you ease, laughter, and a few unexpected bits of sweetness along the way. Julie

I release the need for “my way” to be the only way.
