Choose Your Happiness
I recently had a client share her realization that we control the small moments of our lives and that we have the choice to enjoy and find joy in the things that we do.
Listening to her explain what a big impact this had made on how she experiences her days nearly brought me to tears. I was so happy for her. I could almost feel her new found sense of empowerment and it is such a beautiful thing to witness when it comes to realizing that you can create happiness in your own life.
It's one thing to intellectually think you can create your own happiness and it's another thing altogether to experience it and KNOW it to be true. When this happens, life becomes beautiful and full of wonder once again.
The easiest path to experiencing this more in your own life is to CHOOSE the perspective of curiosity, awe and delight more often. The more you practice this, the easier it becomes and the more often these moments are experienced naturally by you with little to no effort.
We are blessed with the ability to choose our perspectives and emotions, yet often we forget about this. We allow ourselves to sit with a negative thought that arises, rather than push it away and consciously choose something that would feel better. Or we get caught up in the daily tasks and responsibilities and don't stop to look around while we are doing them to see the beauty in small moments.
I encourage you this week to make CHOOSING happiness your mantra. Maybe even challenge yourself to intentionally choose 1 moment of happiness today, 2 tomorrow, 3 the next day and so forth. Fill up your days with tiny happy moments and let this become a habit that makes a huge impact in your life. ❤️ Julie
