🌼 A gentle way to shift negative thoughts...

A softer way to release negativity...

Lately, I’ve been reminding myself of something simple… and surprisingly powerful.

It's a method to counter negative thinking and it's called the 4 N’s.

It's not complicated—but it works when my mind starts running in directions that don’t serve me.

Especially lately.

As I’ve been healing, I’ve noticed how easy it is to slip into impatience.
To wonder why things aren’t moving faster.
To question my body.
To feel frustrated with the pace of it all.

Which is why I'm reminding myself of the 4 N’s.

Notice
First, simply notice the thought.
Without judgment. Without trying to fix it.
Just… “Oh, there it is.”

Name
Give it a label.
Fear. Frustration. Impatience.
There’s something grounding about naming what’s actually present.

Normalize
Remind yourself—of course this is here.
Of course I feel this way.
This is what it means to be human, especially when things feel uncertain or out of our control.

Nurture
This is where the shift happens.
Offer yourself something kinder.
A softer thought. A deeper breath. A little more patience than you think you have.

Not to force positivity…
…but to meet yourself with care and compassion instead of criticism.

The thought doesn’t always disappear—but it usually loosens its grip.

And in its place, there’s just a little more space.

If you’ve been navigating something lately—whether it’s your health, your time, or just the pace of your days—you might try this.

The next time a thought feels heavy…

Notice.
Name.
Normalize.
Nurture.

And see what shifts.

With love,
Julie

I trust the timing of my healing and my life.
