Who Knew???
Sometimes the simplest things can make such a difference in our everyday rhythm — a scent, a texture, a flavor, or even a small ritual. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite little discoveries that you may not know about — the things I keep coming back to again and again because they just make life feel a little richer.
Here are five that I’m loving right now:
- Beeswax votives from Bees Light Candles (Etsy) This small company in rural Pennsylvania is working to help save the bee population — and they have the cutest bee tealights. The natural fragrance of beeswax is one of my absolute favorite scents. It feels grounding and cozy in a way that no synthetic fragrance ever can. One of the tealights comes with this season's fall journal along with a guided letting go ritual.
- Field Company Cast Iron Seasoning Oil If you love cooking with cast iron, this is a game changer. I use just a tiny bit each time I clean my skillet, and over time it’s built the smoothest, naturally non-stick surface. They are a small family owned company, which makes me like it even more.
- Honeynut squash These are my absolute favorite squash — like a smaller, sweeter, denser version of butternut. One is the perfect size for dinner for two or if you save the other half, it’s delicious blended into a chia pudding the next morning.
- Hardy mums Two people told me last week you can’t winter over mums in Kentucky — but you absolutely can if they’re labeled as hardy! The ones in my garden have been coming back beautifully for over ten years now - check out their autumn glow in the photo above.
- Stronger Girl Coffee Glampout This small brand was started by a friend whose mission is all about women lifting each other up — and knowing when it’s time to be lifted. She’s hosting a “Stronger Girl Glampout” retreat in Red River Gorge, Kentucky, November 9–11. If you’ve been craving a weekend of connection and reflection in a beautiful setting, it might be just what your soul needs. Call Stacy this week at 859-445-8319 for details if you are interested.
Whether it’s a new candle or a cozy retreat, I love discovering small things that make life feel more intentional, more beautiful, and more alive.
Maybe this inspires you to think about what you’re loving right now — and to share it with someone else who might just need a little spark of joy too. I'd love to hear what's bring you joy as well! Have a lovely week!
💛 Julie
